Minutes of the November 11 Meeting

The November meeting started with Mary Sheridan presiding over a Windows SIG. As usual, several topics were discussed. The idea of recycling old motherboards or recovering the gold from computer components was probably the most intense. There appears to be quite a few people in the group who have old equipment that they might be willing to part with.

Robert Armstrong from BCD was the guest speaker. He related very interesting information about Intel’s strategic plans for the next few years, including the Xeon and Merced processors, and AMD’s new K-7 chips. Mr. Armstrong then made a brief sales pitch for the "Flash Net" Internet service.

After a brief beak, we had the door prize drawing. Bruce Register and Roger waters were among the winners. u
